7/2/2010Fenwick Kirk news week beginning 8th Feb 2010

A reminder if you are on the congregational board of Fenwick Kirk you have a meeting on Tuesday night at 7.30 pm in the small hall.

Daytime users of the church please take note that there are new windows being installed on Monday, Tuesday and Friday 15th,16th and 19th of Feb. This will mean some disruption and apologies for any convenience in advance.

You are asked to contact Geoff if you would be interested in attending or hosting a home group for a period of 5 studies preparing for Easter Lenten which is just around the corner, i.e. 17th of Feb. I can personally recommend home groups as they introduce you to members of the congregation you may have seen but never had the opportunity to get to know or you may be new to Fenwick, Waterside, Moscow or even North Kilmarnock. This is a golden chance also to get to know people in the area but for whatever reason it is a very good way to understand more about the Christian faith on your doorstep. So if you would be interested as I said contact Geoff on 01560600217.

The annual church whist drive which was postponed will now be held on Friday March 26th at 7.30pm in the church hall. Contact for this well supported event are John (on a cruise), Douglas 01560600630 or the lovely Catherine (the fantastic cook) McInnes on 10560700283.

Church Guild is going to meet on Tues 23rd Feb. at 7.30pm in the small hall. Retired Police Inspector Alistair Kilgour will talk on his experiences of Bicycles to Helicopters. There will be a bring and buy sales table for food only.

Fenwich church garden club meets on Thursday Feb. 25th at 7.30pm in the small hall when June Neilston will take members on an illustration of Holland. The competition for the night will be Snowdrops.

Please note an extra date for your diaries for Feb. On Saturday yes Saturday 27th the church to take a fresh look at prayer as a concept. No sermon but a short drama will be included. This service begins at 10am. Tea will be served in the hall from 9.15 and also after the service.
