7/2/2010Some thoughts from your new Community Correspondent

I have in the time allowed to get some info out into the area as to what is going on next week and I am sure I have missed something out. I am only human and I do apologise to anyone or any organisation I may have missed but this site s1fenwick.com is for each and everybody who live in Fenwick, Waterside, Moscow and North Kilmarnock. The site is self explanatory as you can see by the headers as to how to use this site. Just log on and click to the heading you want to use it is as easy as that. We have in our area good coverage from the Kilmarnock Standard for which we are very grateful and you will see that we will even lead you to some of their items and every house in the Parish gets a copy of the Kirk Covenanter. May I add that the Covenanter even gets sent outwith the parish to members of the Kirk who live far away like Glasgow and other places. These outlets are long standing means of communication as to what is going on and what is happening and long may they continue and grow.

The good thing about s1fenwick is that it is immediate and therefore if you see a mistake or more importantly if you want to give your opinion the opportunity is there also it is our site for our area.

I have written up just a few bits of info for a few organisations and I only ask that if you are the local pack leader, church leader, head teacher or anyone running any organization please log on, click to the heading you want to use and let us know.

A wee thought how often have you heard Ah didnie know that or that that was on or that they had a baby, usually these are genuine examples of people just not knowing what was going on so having been on various organisations in Fenwick and elsewhere I have always had the mantra communication and use every communication at hand to get your message out so use us, s1fenwick is your site.

PS: I was asked recently why we do not delete old input well the reason for this is we hope that we use the huge amount of space that is available, that if there a Fenickin living in Australia for example they can look back and rekindle thoughts of home. Which just reminds me has anyone got old photos of the village? it would be fantastic to look back and see when the men like myself used to have darker hair and the wife had a bit of a figure (approval for that last comment has been sought and given though it cost me a bunch of flowers). Also I am sure there are many farmers and even young farmers who would love to see past photos of our agriculture shows which have been brilliant over the years, why should they be stuck in a photo album when they could be seen through our area and beyond. As I say it is your web page for you all to use as you all see fit. Here's looking forward to a red hot s1fenwick.com!
