Objection Deadline Looms for Mansell Scheme

The deadline for objections to the proposed scheme by Mansell Homes for 65 houses on Skernieland Road is this THURSDAY.

The Community Association have drafted a letter of objection that can either be simply copied and pasted, or rewritten by anyone wishing to object to this scheme.

The letter can be downloaded at www.futurefenwick.com

This website also carried further information about the proposals, which could increase the size of the village by 10%.

Another key issue is proposals to build a new road. The developers say this is simply to serve the cemetery.

However, it represents an investment of around £250,000 and there are fears it could lead to yet more housing schemes to the North of Fenwick.

There is also a letter of objection at www.futurefenwick.com that can be used if you wish to object to this scheme, which some deem a more serious threat to the village than the Mansell housing scheme.

Meanwhile, another campaign group has emerged in Fenwick. Simply called StopMansell, its policies seem more militant that FutureFenwick's. It has however got a logo which sums up the mood of many.
