Man rescued from car after Fenwick road crash
7 DecemberA man has had to be rescued from his car by fire crews after it crashed into a lamp-post in icy conditions in Fenwick.
At 5.10am on Tuesday 6th December, firefighters from Kilmarnock were called to rescue a man who was trapped after his car hit a lamppost on the A77 in Fenwick.
Firefighters stabilised the car before using specialist cutting equipment to free the casualty, who was treated by paramedics. Following the rescue, firefighters ensured the vehicle was made safe, while the road lighting department was called to assess the lamppost which was hit by the vehicle and make it safe.
Local fire crews have been called to several road-related incidents, as plummeting temperatures and icy conditions brought treacherous driving conditions.
