Gala Day

Gala Day is this Saturday, June 11th. The theme this year is “The Fenwick Weavers’ Co-operative 250th Anniversary”. There are plenty of stalls including: a beer tent, sweetie stall, ice-cream stall, burger stall, tea tent, and more! There are also lots of fun rides and games such as: spinning teacups, a bouncy castle, a bucking bronco, tug-of-war, target tennis and a football competition. We have recruited a pipe band and dance troupe to entertain you throughout the afternoon as you wander around with your ice-cream cone. This year we have even got a snail race! So come and join us for an entertaining afternoon.

 

We are looking for volunteers to help on the day from 8am to 6pm. So if you have a spare hour to help set up, clear up, or on the stalls please contact Isobel on 01560 601199. We promise not to keep you more than an hour! It takes a lot of people to make gala day the event that it is, so please come and help us.

 

If you are kind enough to donate any baking or raffle prizes please also contact Isobel. You can donate baking by bringing it to the tea tent at the King George V playing fields on the day.

 

The adult five-a-side football tournament will be on. To book a team and for more details please contact Joe Davis on 01560 600591.

 

If you are interested in booking a stall please contact Louise on 07886 844600 or email: lljmclaughlan@hotmail.co.uk. There is only a £20 charge for a stall, for the whole day and there are still some stalls available.

Thanks for a great Day in spite of the awful downpour. You all worked so hard and the children were a credit to the village. This "visitor" enjoyed meeting old friends and a welcome, sheltering cup of tea and a couple of scones. The sight of Gerry pushing a pram will stay with me!!
