Hi, Do not know of anything re top of Skernieland road. Only thing I have heard muted in the village is special housing being built in the field beside The playing fields. Maybe someone from the comunitty council can through some light on this, as I believe they are more reliable re planning information around the village. I can not imagine where houses could be built at the top of Skernieland Road.

Thank you Mark for the information. It is as I thought people had been talking about in the village. Wonder Mark if you could indulge my feeble brain, do you have any Idea what is ment by "Special needs housing unit" Can I maybe take these as future warden controlled housing or what?. "Social housing" is that what is now the term for Council owned property, as per the housing schemes of the 60,s? Fraid I am not to bright re the new "speak" for housing. Yet again thank you Mark, you have made it very clear with your input.  Sandy

I have found this on the East Ayrshire Council site

Other than that I don't know any more.

Mark, Thanks for this other bit of info re special needs, Could be a bit of a, preverbial can of worms, as I believed that  special needs were homes for the elderly but as your piece shows special needs is a very wide remit. Has anyone else got any comments on this subject, or is there info out there as to what special needs are proposed?

I am very grateful to a resident of Fenwick who has assisted me in finding out the following info. re. new housing in Fenwick, which also includes Laigh Fenwick.

Re the housing (50) between the cemetery and Skernieland road "It remains open to the council "to particularly encourage" the provision of community care units"as per the social housing muted.

 More importantly there is another area recomended for housing and that is at the monument field, as I call it, which is at the Stewarton road north end with "Buffer planting" at the M.77 side and the west part of the field. (20 houses)

The total housing recomended is 70 between the two sites.

Hope this helps and thanks again to my helpful resident.

The planning application for the other houses about to be built in Fenwick (in Creelshaugh Road) are advertised in this week's Killie Standard. ie:

6 single storey 2 bedroom/4 person, 'older &ambulant disabled' dwellings, with associated garden/parking etc.

You can see the plans online on EAC's web site under 'planning online', if you put in the reference number under 'simple search';

There is a 14 day deadline for making representations/comments/objections. This ends on 21 August .

G Roberts.
