Lest we forget!

When next we see some famous actor all dressed up and screeming Freedom lets not forget those of Fenwick and others whose act was to lay down their lifes so that each and every one of us has the right of freedom, to speak as we find, to follow our God, with no malice intent to man nor nation.

The brave Covenanters of Fenwick were.

Honour Roll of Fenwick Covenanters
Robert Buntine, captured at the Battle of Rullion Green, executed at Glasgow Cross.
James Blackwood, captured at the Battle of Rullion Green, executed at Irvine.
Captain John Paton, veteran of several battles and escapades, apprehended in these parts and executed in the Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
James White, shot at Little Blackwood for taking part in a prayer meeting.
John Fergushill,
George Woodburn
Peter Gemmell, all shot at Midland Farm for his taking part in a prayer meeting.
John Nisbet, captured at the same prayer meeting executed in the Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
David Bitchet
William Bitchet
Andrew Buckle
David Currie
James Gray
Robert Todd
John White
John Wylie, these eight were captured at the Bothwell Bridge, imprisoned in Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh before being transported to the Colonies. Perished at sea when their prison ship sank off Orkney
