Kings Arms Hotel Fenwick

The King's Arms Hotel dates from the eighteenth century and was a busy staging post on the route south from Glasgow - offering extensive stabling and refreshment to travellers on their long journey to Ayr and beyond.

Fenwick, separated from the parish of Kilmarnock in 1642, was renowned for the fertility of its soil and the quality of its cheese and veal.

At the Venetian style windows on the left of the hotel, brides on their wedding day would cut their wedding cake and throw favours to the assembled crowd in the street below.

The Mongol Rally is an epic adventure spanning 10,000 miles, crossing over to many countries to mension, hopefully taking less than 5 weeks, all to raise money for charity.

Team leader Jamie Mac first heard about the rally when he seen it on "Jack Osbournes Adrenalin Junkie"! Ex-chef & bar manager Jamie Mac now works as an online sales manager at www.idogifts.co.uk =] He has managed to convince Ashleigh, Calum and Mark into attempting to brave the precarious journey to mongolia in the aid of raising as much money as humanly possible for charity (tbc) and having the adventure of a lifetime!

Chief "mechanic" Calum is a electromechanical apprentice at the now doomed Johnnie Walker Botteling plant in Kilmarnock. "Mechanic" is probably an over-exaggerated description of what Calum will be able to do but if anything breaks or goes wrong its his fault.

Chief Medical Officer Mark is a third year vet student who believes if he can fix a dog he can fix a human! As doctors are inferior to vets! =] He believes strongly in the medicinal purposes of alcohol, and that time is a great healer.

Public Relations Guru Ashleigh (asho) is at college doing graphic design and can generally be found at the center of any party! She will be responsible for defusing any undesirable situations and generally getting us out of trouble.
