Fenwick is a former weaving and shoe-making village on the Fenwick Water, three miles northeast of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire. Fenwick Kirk dates from 1643; the following year the Reverend William Guthrie, a celebrated Covenant preacher and author of The Christian's Great Interest was ordained as minister. Local residents were resolute upholders of the Covenanting cause. The Fenwick Weaver's Society was founded in 1761 and is claimed to be the world's first co-operative society. The M77 was extended to Fenwick in 2005, and today the village is home to around 900 people. s1fenwick.com has been developed to allow residents to share their news, views and opinions, make announcements, publicise events and show off their photos and videos.
